{Minnesota Celebration of Life Funeral Photographer}

I left the funeral of this wonderful lady with an increased desire to love, serve, and appreciate the beauty of life.

Why I started Minnesota Funeral Photography and why it can help grieving families.

As with many things in life, my mom and dad are my inspiration. It was at their recent funerals that my idea began.

For both occasions, my sisters and I worked very hard to ensure that the day was uplifting for everyone. Even though we were experiencing intense sadness, their funerals were truly a celebration of beautiful lives that meant so much to us and to other people.

Because I am a photographer, I tried to take my own pictures, but was too busy talking with people or taking care of other matters. I really wish we would have had someone there who could have photographed all of the gorgeous flowers, the food presentation and centerpieces that were lovingly put together, the memory table display we made, and the funeral service itself because my sisters and I spoke, and all the grandchildren sang a beautiful song.  Most importantly, I wanted to have pictures of our beloved relatives and friends who came to support us. I wish I had an album that I could look at and smile as I saw pictures of their final celebrations.

This is the service that I now want to provide for other families.

Ft. Snelling Funeral Photography | Minneapolis Minnesota

I had the sweetest experience of photographing a service at Ft. Snelling.

Now my dad was a Marine, and so I grew up with somewhat of an appreciation for the military, but attending the service of Mr. Bradford changed me for the better. I truly wish I could have thanked him for his service. I saw all of the volunteer veterans, and I sensed their honor and responsibility to him. I talked with several of the staff and learned how well they take care of the grounds and individual headstones. I felt the love of my country and for those who serve and protect it in a way that I, sadly, haven't felt in a while.

Most interesting all, I gained a new understanding of my own dad, and felt he would have chuckled and been proud as I swapped his old stories with other veterans (one of his favorite things to do) β€οΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
